Nonprofit Excellence Initiative 
Strong Nonprofits Matter

The Quincy Area Funders Collaborative is a partnership of the Community Foundation, The Moorman Foundation, Tracy Family Foundation, John Wood Community College, and United Way of Adams County. This partnership launched the Nonprofit Excellence Initiative in 2020 to make a collective and strategic impact on nonprofits in Adams County, Illinois.

Now Accepting Applications for the LEAD Program!

Invitation to Apply & Program Details Flyer

Applications are now open for the Nonprofit Excellence Initiative LEAD Program, a one-year leadership development, capacity building, and mission strengthening experience for small nonprofits. Organizations with fewer than 2.5 full-time employees in Adams, Brown, Hancock, and Pike County, Illinois are invited to apply.

Eligible nonprofits must demonstrate:


  • 501(c)3 status
  • Serves at least one of the following counties in Illinois: Adams, Brown, Hancock, or Pike
  • Fewer than 2.5 full-time employees
  • Basic structure and processes in place (such as monthly financials, annual budget, etc.).
  • Board support of this program


Up to 5 nonprofit organizations will be selected to apply.


Each participating nonprofit who completes the activities outlined in the program will receive $1,000 for unrestricted operational support. Please refer to the Invitation to Apply for further details of the program requirements and a tentative timeline.
