Created in 2011, the Brown County Public Schools Education Fund helps individuals make a lasting impact on education in Brown County.
The Hornet Pride Foundation provided seed money to establish the fund. After establishing the fund with the Community Foundation, the Hornet Pride Foundation dissolved.
“The Hornet Pride Foundation began as a way to help the Brown County school system,” said Steve Kremer, former president. “With the Brown County Public Schools Education Fund, and its administration through the Community Foundation, the community is in a great position to accept large donations and to continue to market the fund.”
Donations of all sizes have grown the fund and its impact is increasing. A local committee reviews grant requests from teachers and administrators. Teachers in Brown County are able to provide a more challenging and rigorous curriculum to meet the academic needs of all students.
