For the Spears, giving back to the community is more than making a donation - it’s their philosophy as a family. For generations, the Spears have understood that their role in the community was much greater than the services they provide to it, and so, it has become a way of life.

Jeff has given back through a number of community endeavors and leadership positions in addition to numerous volunteer efforts. Theresa has focused her community endeavors on arts, health, and education. Together, Jeff and Theresa are active in the faith community.
The Spears are the third of four generations to lead the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home. Jeff and Theresa strive to inspire a continuous commitment to community excellence and care.
With such a depth and breadth of charitable interests and community involvement, determining a single focus for a permanently endowed fund proved to be a challenge. However, by establishing an unrestricted endowment fund at the Community Foundation, Jeff and Theresa can impact a broad range of needs and opportunities today, and are assured that tomorrow and for generations to come, their charitable dollars will be used to make the greatest impact.
Through the Jeffery G. & Theresa L. Spear Fund, Jeff and Theresa will leave a legacy for the community they love.
