The Wood Endowment

Leon Wood has lived a lot of places, but no place is quite like home. Wood grew up in northern Adams County, near the Hancock County line. He attended Unity schools and then went on to further his education at the University of Illinois in Champaign/Urbana. 

Over the years, Wood’s travels took him to California, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Now, he is back on the family farm, a place that shaped him into the person he is today. Those life lessons, in both agriculture and education, is why Wood wants to invest back in the community.  

The Wood Endowment will be used to support programs in both Adams and Hancock Counties so, as Wood puts it, “specific organizations supported can evolve over time as needs change.”
