In 2003, a local law firm, Schmiedeskamp, Robertson, Neu & Mitchell, celebrated its 90th anniversary by establishing a fund. The firm was the first business entity to establish a permanent endowment with the Community Foundation.
The commitment to serving community was already present within the firm, since members of the firm are actively engaged as Board members and volunteers in various community organizations.
Community Foundation staff provide information about nonprofit needs, and the fund’s advisor makes written grant recommendations to the Community Foundation’s Board.
“The fund provides yet another way in which we can serve the community and enhance the quality of life in the area.” said Delmer Mitchell, then Managing Partner.
